Amis Martin
Amis Martin, *25.8. 1949 Oxford, Anglie - syn Kingsley Amise, angl. spisovatel. 1969-71 studoval literaturu na Exeter College na Oxfordské univerzitě, poté pracuje pro The Observer, Times Literary Supplement, New Statesman. Jeho debut The Rachel Papers získává 1974 cenu Somerset Maugham. 1980 Amis, v té době již autor 3 knih, končí kariéru novináře, aby se mohl věnovat naplno psaní. Je autorem řady esejů, jedné div. aktovky (It's Disgusting At Your Age), film. scénáře (Saturn 3), ale především knih - The Rachel Papers, Dead Babies, Success, Other People: A Mystery Story, Invasion of the Space Invaders, Money: A Suicide Note (1984), The Moronic Inferno and Other Visits to America, Einstein's Monsters, London Fields (1989), Time's Arrow (č. Šíp času) a The Nature of the Offense, Visiting Mrs. Nabokov and Other Excursions, The Information, Night Train (ang. vyd. 1988 - č. vyd. 2000 Noční vlak), Heavy Water and Other Stories (1999).
